Poetry Shenanigans – Worship

God of small things,
God of all things,
With no beginning, no end,
Only good old infinity up ahead.

Poetry Shenanigans – Home

Sometimes, we all need a reminder of the things that anchor & ground us. Here’s to celebrating that which let’s us find a piece of ourselves, when we’re all but lost, all that inspires us when we set out on our quests & journeys of discovery.

It’s funny,
As time passes you by,
Regardless of where it is
you go,
Where your heart takes you,
And the paths that you follow,
One thing is for sure,
There will never be,
A place like home.

Poetry Shenanigans: Thinking Out Loud

Thinking Out Loud

Why is it easier to scorn someone?
Than to give them a shot?
Why is it easier to push someone
further down the rabbit hole?
The rabbit hole that houses all their
Their anguish and deepest, darkest
Than it is to hold them,
And remind them of silver linings
Outlining their storm clouds?
Why is it easier to criticize?
To find fault?
Than it is to compliment someone,
For their dedication,
And  intricacies of their thoughts?
Why is it easy to break a heart?
And break people down and apart?
When you yourself know,
How it feels, to be cleaved,
And torn apart….
Why is it easy to turn a deaf ear?
Or give a cold shoulder?
To the ones we call friends,
The ones we claim to love,
To someone who only needs a kind
A warm embrace, a hand, a hug?
A friendly reminder,
That they aren’t alone?
That this moment too shall pass,
And this storm too shall be one
They weather.
Why do we bury the real us so deep?
That we forget about the true versions
of ourselves,
That once did exist?
Why do we make it hard to be human?
When all that we need to do,
Is look within,
And free the wonder, the curiosity,
The zest for life,
We once possessed,
And free it from the shackles,
And confines of isolation and ignorance?
Why is it that you and I,
Refuse to see eye to eye?
When in reality,
We have the same vision,
The same dreams, hopes and aspirations?

Poetry Shenanigans: Reflections

Agitation, Trepidation,
They colour my thoughts,
Every waking moment.
Retribution, Indignation,
Like a chant,
Mumbled and murmured
Hesitation, Frustration,
Clouding my decisions these
Validation, Resolution,
The only notes of peace,
I seek out like a hungry, weary
Revelations, Revelations,
The future beholds,
Chants and whispers,
Muttered among the wise and
the old.
Salvation to all these violations,
The future beholds.
Be your own solution,
Seek your redemption,
Within your own reflection.
Deflect all insinuations,
All misguided misinterpretations,
Towards your situation,
Because the best solution,
Lies within your Intuition.

I guess you could also call it Procrastination, the other face of the 2 faced motivational thought. Well this is my first post on here, so if you do stop by, then thanks for dropping by! I wouldn’t say I’m a seasoned blogger, so bear with me whilst you read through all the verbal carnage. A bloody good friend of mine got me thinking about moving over to WordPress…okay so it took me almost 2 years to finally stop contemplating and to ‘Just do it.’ But hey I’d like to think it’s better late than never.

I’ve been blogging up at Blogger these past 2 years. I had started up on this new journey/phase of my life and I wanted to blog about the elusive life of a foreign student. But that turned out to be a mish-mash of things…This one in particular doesn’t have a primary theme per-se, except that of opinions, oh and apparently lots of them. I must add though, this blog is mainly about keeping my brain all tick-tocked and keeping those creative juices flowing so I can come up with creative pieces of work.

So don’t go screaming ‘Bloody murder’ if you see a sudden onslaught of poetry or book, movie, music and TV show reviews. That’s what Thotfaktoree is all about…thoughts about the creative process. Well on that note, it’s time to say cheers! Thanks for stopping by and may the power of inspiration (& procrastination…haha yes I’m a fiend) be with you!
